Charles D. Burgess, BA, LLB, TEP

Mr. Charles Burgess graduated Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa Law School in 1987, receiving the De Boo Award in Taxation on graduation. Since then Charles has practiced law in Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the areas of business and tax law. He has been involved in a full range of tax transactions, including corporate reorganizations, financings, estate planning, sophisticated tax structures, investment strategies and international asset protection. Charles is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Charles has been a director and officer of several Canadian public and private companies over the past several years, across a variety of sectors, including Paragon Pharmacies; Hy-Drive Technologies; Sparta Capital Corp.; Silver Mountain Mines; Catalyst Healthcare Ltd.; and Envoy Energy Partners Corp. He has served in various roles including as chair, and on compensation committees, governance committees and audit committees.

Dave Faulkner

Dave has over 30 years of experience providing financial planning advice to his clients. Today he utilizes a “Whole Wealth” approach that includes not only advising on retirement planning needs but also on estate planning issues such as cross-generational wealth transfer, charitable giving and tax minimization strategies.

Ronald W. Aquin  CPA, CA, CMA, CFP

Ron is a partner of Metrix Group LLP a firm of Chartered Professional Accountants serving clients out of five offices throughout Alberta that employs seventy five staff.  Ron’s practice focuses on medium and large private companies including audit engagements, tax filings and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring and estate planning.  Ron has over thirty years of public accounting experience.  Ron articled with Deloitte Haskins and Sells Chartered Accountants and has obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Planner designations.  Ron is a past Chair of the Practice Review Committee for the Certified Management Accountants of Alberta.
